Writing

Narrative Writing: Writing complex stories with developed characters.
Poetry: Writing free verse and structured poems (like haikus or acrostic)


Reading

•    Literary Devices: Understanding metaphors, similes, personification, etc.
•    Theme and Main Idea:  Identifying the central message of a story or article.
•    Critical Thinking: Analyzing the author’s purpose and point of view.
